Passionate about art, craft, design and any creative form of expression defines, Snigdha Binaykia. Pursuing her passion for art and design along with writing skills to enhance her creative potential and appetite she comes from a background in design and mass communication/journalism.
A commerce graduate, studied design from National Institute of Fashion Technology, thereafter post graduated from Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication. Her textile skills came from learnings at National Institute of Design.
Being in the corporate world for 25 years, Snigdha had the opportunity to work with some of the best conglomerates globally in sectors of retail and media. She has been fortunate to make her contribution by being instrumental in their growth and success stories, handling several roles in leadership capacities as her career progressed.
It was time for her to move on to an Entrepreneurial journey and give back to the society, to achieve a sense of fulfilment and purpose. She strongly believes, “life comes back in a circle” here is a chance to make new beginnings, this time for a philanthropic vision.
Having studied an entrepreneurial program from Indian Institute of Management, she launched her own start up, the beginning of a new innings.
“Oyl” was conceived in 2019 as a concept. It took shape in 2023 and launched the year after, an organic home grown brand focusing on sustaining artisanal craft and promoting livelihoods at grassroots in various ways through her handcrafted clothing line, home décor and accessories.

Gardens and plants are passion for Arunima Gangadharan. The journey of moving from a corporate to curating gardens and any outdoor spaces was her calling and she decided to join Snigdha at oyldesignstudio.
A graduate in engineering from Bangalore University, she moved into the fashion industry purely by chance and loved it. She had a long satisfying career with several global fashion brands for over 20 years.
It was time to pursue her passion which was part of her everyday life. She pursued the women’s entrepreneurship program at Indian Institute of Management. As life evolved, she realised that it was time to get back to nature and take her onward journey, thus began 'String of plants'.
She is a naturalist when it comes to plants and nature. Beginning from her own home, she curated beautiful indoors predominantly home décor pieces with a range of exotic succulents. Her bespoke curation is an endless range of plants and connecting them with homes in special unique ways enhances the beauty of spaces. Special occasions and corporate gifting are her forte.
Arunima believes, nature creates beautiful landscapes and she aspires to add her creative touch emulating its beauty into gardens.
